Employers and job seekers you are cordially invited to a virtual job fair! You may be asking yourself what in the world is a virtual job fair? It is a place where employers and job seekers can meet and discuss job openings and the application process right from their computer. This is a free event for both employers and job seekers and will be conducted via Facebook.
The event is taking place on January 16, 2012 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Job Seekers and Employers to “register” for the event:
- Visit the event page from your Facebook profile: Job Fair Event Page
- Select attending
On the date of the event return to the event page and make postings on the event wall.
You may post the following:
- Job postings
- Questions about job postings
- Questions about resumes
- Questions about applications processes
- Interview questions
- Postings about job positions you seek
- Location where you seek employment
*Do not post personal information on the event page wall as the event is open to the public and therefore visible to the public.
You will see several job postings on the event wall throughout the day, feel free to invite your friends and family.
This event is being hosted by us here at Gig Logo and by resume expert Karleen Harp from ResumeSmith. ResumeSmith is a California based company that aims to connect classic career marketing tools with contemporary strategies (social media) for a successful job search.

I think this is so much better than an online employment site people continue to get blast e-mails about. It’s live & interactive. if employers and job seekers alike are in attendance they can ask and answer questions, do virtual interviews, skype, etc… What a great idea Karla!

Great idea. I’ve been hearing of more and more instances of people finding work through Facebook. You’d think it was only LinkedIn that would be good for job seekers.

I totally missed this event. There should have been a lot of opportunities there for me. I wish they will be able to put up another virtual job fair event like this. I am a programmer myself and I am currently looking for an online job as a php programmer.

Hello Karla, That’s a shame I missed the event, seems like a really good idea though, as someone elese commented we spend so much time on the Internet this does seem the way forward. Will you be doing this again? I’m pretty sure this is something that could grow and grow what with peoples employment/financial situations.

This is definitely a good chance for employers and job applicants to find the opportunity for them. It seems Facebook gives more employment access aside from its useful groups and applications. I wish there will also be opportunities for freelancers like me. I am looking forward to check out the new job fair events in the future.
